About this deal
You can plug an Xbox console into almost any HDMI monitor — but choosing the right device can hugely improve visuals. The Xbox Series X targets 4K resolution, coupled with new specifications like HDMI 2.1, reserved for the best products in 2022. While the Xbox Series S offers similar features, you're working with a lower resolution between 1080p and 1440p. The new Xbox consoles also offer 120 FPS gaming, variable refresh rate (VRR) support, and more for smoother experiences. Often even a higher peak luminance can be achieved under certain conditions. For example, when a smaller area/APL of the display is used for showing a bright object, when a bright object is displayed for a short time, etc. If you have the hardware, the 27GN950-Bcan deliver 144 Hz with HDR and FreeSync Premium Pro over DisplayPort. That means it includes Low Framerate Compensation for speeds below 48 Hz. It also carries G-Sync Compatibility certification from Nvidia with the same capabilities. Assembly and Accessories for LG 27GN950-B The LG 27GP950-B is compatible with both FreeSync and G-Sync so you can use any of the two brand’s top-tier GPUs for it. VRR is extremely important for gaming in 4K, but flexibility is equally as crucial since the GPU market isn’t stable. Input lag sits at 4ms at 160Hz so there is no need to worry while gaming on PC, PS5, or the Xbox Series X. Thoughts on the LG 27GP950-B The product supports up to 144Hz (O/C 160Hz). But it supports 4K and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) 120Hz when using an HDMI 2.1 cable.
Added that the ASUS ROG Strix XG27UQR is another option to get as a 4k monitor with better Reflection handling.Approximate width of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the width is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio.
The overall dimensions of the monitor once assembled, if you want to measure out the space on your desk, are 609.2 x 574.7 x 291.2mm (that's 23.98 x 22.63 x 11.46in). The LG 27GN950-B has the thinnest bezel we’ve seen to date, just 5mm at the top and sides and 10mm on the bottom. While not truly frameless, it’s closer to that goal than any other monitor we know of. We tested the monitor with the PS5's new variable refresh rate feature and confirmed that it's not compatible, since the PS5 only supports HDMI Forum VRR. Added that the Dell Alienware AW2724DM supports HDMI Forum VRR, which this monitor doesn't support. The visual appeal and performance of the LG 27GP950-B matches up to the promise of the specs on the side of the box – and they're some very decent specs too, amongst the best that you can get for a monitor of this size and price.

The storage temperature shows the range from a minimum to a maximum temperature, within which storing of the display is considered to be safe.
This 144Hz refresh rate also has you covered for 120 FPS, with onboard FreeSync support keeping titles tear-free. It generally means fluid gaming, with low input lag and response times all contributing to feeling great to play. All these considerations make the VG279Q look the part and a stellar companion across a range of games. The percentage of the approximate area, taken by the active part of the screen, to the total front area. These enhancements all require a compatible display, and the one you choose has a significant bearing on the value attained from your console. It's not all about specifications and features either, with the best models delivering punchy contrast and vibrant colors —an area where some manufacturers can fall short. HDMI 2.1 connectivity doesn't feature, although it's not essential without 4K. Its 1440p resolution allows you to push up to 120Hz over HDMI, supported on the new Xbox consoles. It's best with the Xbox Series X, where supersampling scales down 4K for sharp visuals. But it'll also showcase the best of the Xbox Series S, even if 1440p games on the system are currently scarce.
The LG 27GP950 is one of the only monitors meeting the demands of Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5, pushing the absolute best performance from your console. While almost any other monitor has limitations, it's one of the few options supporting 4K, 120Hz, and HDR simultaneously. It will also serve content creators and office workers who spend time gaming on the side, acting as a centerpiece for any home setup.
My gaming laptop has a USB-C port that supports DisplayPort, so I can use the same cable to run at 4K 144hz. It's a slightly older computer though, so I have to run games at 1080p, but they still look great. 1080p scales evenly into 4K, so I find that the graphics still look good. There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used. We're also big fans of the Samsung M8 Smart Monitor, which again offers a 4K resolution and throws in a whole host of extras as well. You can run streaming apps right from the monitor itself, and it comes with integrated speakers, so it's sort of like having a smart TV and a monitor in one unit. The pricing is fairly similar to the LG offering too. The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. If someone comes across a different type of panel or their LG 27GP950doesn't correspond to our review, let us know and we'll update the review. Note that some tests, like gray uniformity, may vary between individual units. While HDMI 2.1 monitors are getting more affordable, 4K TVs have long offered better value for console gaming. Many 4K TVs continue to lead in features and price, with LG’s OLED series a recurring favorite in our TV roundups. It’s little surprise; this 4K TV’s predecessors won our best gaming TV awards in 2020 and 2021, with the LG C2 still at the forefront for Xbox Series X and PS5 in 2022. The G7 wraps this up in a smart design, including a curved VA panel. It's an acquired taste for some, with 1000R curvature (in short, extremely curvy), which allows you to take more in when gaming. That display technology does mean strong contrast and colors, although viewing angles leave room for improvement if a crucial factor. You also have DisplayHDR 600 certification, which delivers one of the better HDR implementations, with a wide color gamut and fair brightness.
