About this deal

I do know how long other products last, though. I have settled on Autobright TNT Treatment as my preferred plastics enhancer and apply that every couple of weeks. I don't see a lot better from any other product and find that product so easy to use that it is almost a pleasure. You know what I'm saying. Obviously, I won't be using it any more on areas that have C4. I put permanent in quotes myself because no trim restorer is permanent, which I’ve hopefully beat into you by now. Gtechniq C4, however, does last much longer than usual. What this means is that you now have a protective coating of unparalleled durability. Unlike many trim products on the market C4 is an exceptionally thin (circa 30nm) optically clear film which means that it does not add an unattractive gloss film to the surface instead it restores all but the most faded trim to an as new condition. You can expect up to 2 years durability from a single application. I have a few areas which I had ear-marked for the C4 treatment, or coating I should say: wing mirrors, windows surrounds, rear light clusters, rear number plate surrounds and wheel arch flares. The rest of the "plastics" on our cars are actually painted and lacquered.

Application is quite simple with C4. Included in the kit is everything you will need to use, including cotton applicators that will be used to apply the product. You will apply a small amount of coating on the applicator to start applying. A small amount will go a long way when using this product, and you will want to be sure that you are applying the product evenly. There are a lot of trim restorers available, some of which are temporary, and others being semi-permanent. In the case of Gtechniq C4, it is a semi-permanent trim restorer. How To Use Gtechniq C4 Expensive for what it is and does not come with enough application pads as stated in above review. Also spoke to G Techniq for advice on how much I would need for the entire interior of an Audi A3... guess what? I ran out. Now I have a brand spanking new looking interior but a driver side door that looks aged. What this means is that you now have a protective coating of unparalleled durability. Unlike many trim products on the market Gtechniq C4 is an exceptionally thin (circa 30nm) optically clear film which means that it does not add an unattractive gloss film to the surface instead it restores all but the most faded trim to an as new condition. You can expect approximately 2 years from a single application.

To begin the application, you will want to thoroughly clean the trim. I like using Einszett Plastic Deep Cleaner, as shown in my previous blog on this product. As with the cowl trim, you can see that the dark color has been restored to the piece and should remain for upwards of 2 years. The subject of this detailing video is a classic Porsche Boxster and pretty much all of the trim in question was in desperate need of some refurbishment. Wing mirror surrounds, window trim, engine bay, wipers etc all providing the perfect opportunity to showcase exactly why Gtechniq C4 is quite the step up from most trim restoration products. Gtechniq C4 – Unrivalled Durability

In short, cheap plastic restorers aren’t worth your time or money. What Will Plastic Restores NOT do? The most trusted and best method to restore faded car plastic is to use “off the shelf” detailing products such as the products listed above. Once you have spread the product onto a single piece of trim, immediately remove excess product using a Gtechniq Microfibre Cloth

How We Tested & Rated The Black Trim Restorers

For the application of C4 on these, I preferred to use a detailing swab as this was easier to get into the tighter spaces recessed into the bumper cover. Ensure the surface(s) you are going to coat are free from any contaminants. For best results clean trim with a neat solution of W2 APC Universal Cleaner Concentrateand if required use a medium stiff brush Unlike many trim products on the market, C4 is exceptionally thin (circa 30 nanometers) optically clear film – this means it will not add an unattractive gloss finish to the surface. Instead, it restores all, but the most faded trim to an ‘as new’ condition. It is ideal for new trim, helping to prevent fading.
