About this deal

They're Imperial Thousand Sons, but with absolutely zero hubris: they know what they're doing and they haven't got a single speck of doubt about the horrible sins they commit. Knowing that this is but a prelude to what sounds like some really galaxy shaking events in Angron's Arks of Omen book does make me want to know the fates of the named survivors of this book as well.

That’s why I’m reading this book, because in all honesty, Angron: The Red Angel is the sort of book I’d usually shy away from. Half a galaxy away, Graucis Telomane of the Grey Knights has been readying himself for this day, and plans six centuries in the making are finally set in motion – plans that will see the eradication of the Emperor’s greatest mistake once and for all. He’s been keeping the banner flying through Angron’s absence, even while the other lords spread out around the galaxy doing berzerk things in berzerk ways, and is a true believer in the heights the Legion could reach if it came together again. And I really liked how they use the "creature feature" rule of just giving glimpses of Angron here and there throughout until that final big juicy reveal.

Every character within this story (with the exception of one which I will speak of later) has a very interesting arc and I never wanted to skip one character’s progression in favor of another.I’m not suggesting that anyone should read sixty-plus books to understand one slim novel, but that kind of familiarity would doubtless help. Now, that may not be a type of character I usually find interesting, but there are interesting things you can do with such characters. They live in a wholly different world than the rest of the Imperium and Guymer lays it all out in this book. It depicts the titular Primarch as less a character and more an elemental force and shows the impact that his presence has on his followers, which is a really effective approach. David Guymer is a freelance author, PhD in molecular microbiology (which still comes in more handy than you might think), and tabletop warlord based in the Yorkshire East Riding.

WarCom: What kinds of characters and aspects of Chaos can readers expect to see through the lens of the World Eaters?THE HOBBIT: AN UNEXPECTED JOURNEY, THE HOBBIT: THE DESOLATION OF SMAUG, THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES and the names of the characters, items, events and places therein are trademarks of The Saul Zaentz Company d/b/a Middle-earth Enterprises under license to New Line Productions, Inc. While it had its occasional neat imagery, the novel did not go all the way with the violence like it could have. That being said, this could be more on the general theme and source material for the World Eaters, rather than a reflection on the writing. There are a few nods to Aaron’s The Emperor’s Gift , as some of the events that took place there – and the consequences of Angron’s last banishment – have a big part to play in The Red Angel .

It explores the twisted brotherhood of the World Eaters, it shows how horridly enslaved they are and how desperately they hate Angron - just as much as they're still mad for his attention. So we learn quite a bit about the World eaters and Angron is left to his entry in the Primarchs serie. The books, like this one, that live and breathe in a world that acknowledges the other current lore stand head and shoulders above the rest.In the darkness of Imperium Nihilus, across half a million worlds cut off from the dim light of Holy Terra, a beacon is lit. Parts are easy enough to follow, others made me question whether the intention was to give the reader an impression of how the butchers nails feel. He has written for Black Library, Marvel, Aconyte Books, Asmodee, Mantic Games, Cubicle 7, Creative Assembly, and Mongoose Publishing.
