When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant into 7cm (3") pots and grow them on in cooler conditions until large enough to plant outdoors.
Gently tuck your seeds into the soil, making sure they’re cozied up at around 20°C to encourage speedy sprouting. Sow cosmos seed from February to May at a depth of 3mm (1/8in) in a good quality seed compost, and cover the seeds with a very fine sprinkling of vermiculite.We hold a reputation for introducing more plant varieties to the British gardening public than any other seed company. Deadhead the flowers regularly and don’t be afraid to cut back because the plants will reward you with a ton of new growth.

The newest (and to me the loveliest) of the new breedings of cosmos trialled in the garden here – soft, ethereal and quiet. Cosmos is a pollinator's favorite, and often we see bees and beneficial insects settle on the golden pollen centers, taking their nourishment as the flowers wave in the summer breezes. Most purchases from business sellers are protected by the Consumer Contract Regulations 2013 which give you the right to cancel the purchase within 14 days after the day you receive the item. Gradually harden off before planting out in May 30-45cm (12-18") apart once all risk of frost has passed. Individual blooms don’t last long in the vase, about 4-6 days, but each stem is loaded with multiple blossoms that open over a period of a week. Even the best pictures don't really do justice to the incredible tones of this cosmos - like a summer sunset, almost seem to glow.
