About this deal

After over 7 years and testing over hundreds of bike products, her expertise has led her to collaborate and consult with some of the most respected kid's bike product brands in the industry, including Guardian Bikes, Retrospec, Thousand, Kids Ride Shotgun, and Prevelo. With the same passion as ever we are proud to continue to design innovative products that meet the new needs of parents but it doesn't stop there. Weight – You should consider the weight of the bike too: “Lighter-weight balance bikes are easier for children to handle, meaning they’ll get to grips with the bike much faster,” adds Alexandra Rico-Lloyd – something we definitely noticed when our testers were putting these balance bikes through their paces.

Carrie's mission is to empower parents with information they can't get anywhere else - because at Two Wheeling Tots, WE PERSONALLY TEST EVERY PRODUCT WE RECOMMEND!

The seat is fully adjustable so can grow with your child and we found that this bike is good for taller children like Logan.

We started with a Toddlebike at around 18 months of age, then graduated to a Puky, then pedals after that. Learning to ride a bike can be quite daunting for children, when I was learning I had a set of stabilisers which gave me some confidence to ride. We found the strider sport was great for a very short nearly 2 year old, as it was the only one that had a saddle that could go low enough and light enough. We loved the carry handles, cut out of the bike frame – a thoughtful touch that will be appreciated by parents who will inevitably end up having to carry the balance bike at some point. While some balance bikes come with brakes, others rely on your child to use their feet to slow down and stop. We were really surprised to find that the Chicco Red Bullet requires a wrench to loosen and tighten the seat post bolt. My eldest (3) loves his Strider Balance Bike - it is the 'sport' version and is very light, although not the lightest on the market.

Inside the box, the bike is in four pieces, and you get a spanner and the fixings to put it all together.

I would highly recommend these as they are nice and light so easy for a little one to pick up and comes with brakes so saves the shoes! Logan is obsessed with anything that has wheels and when he reached the age of 2 we decided it would be a good idea to purchase a little balance bike for him so that he could get outside more and learn to keep his balance and eventually progress on to a big bike when he's older. this balance bike is very sturdy, while the smoothed, polished edges of the frame make it super kid-friendly. Just the right size for storing snacks, toy cars or random sticks discovered along the way, it was a big hit. The tyres on this bike are plastic, rather than standard air-inflated tyres you get on a standard bike, so the ride won't be as comfortable as a more expensive balance bike with "proper" tyres, but it's a great value option for those just starting out on two wheels, especially if they're not venturing very far.

Boori operate a deposit system: At checkout you will be asked to pay a deposit, with the remaining balance to be paid directly to Boori within 2 working days. Instead of forking out for a small balance bike, then a larger model and finally a first pedal bike, this genius three-in-one design covers it all. I go into schools to teach children to ride bikes and balance bikes, and a lot of the children complain about this problem with the Strider bikes. Some are balance bike brands that have been ridden and loved over the years, often by more than one child. The wheels are really sturdy and have dealt well with the rough tarmac paths between our house and the school. There’s also a plastic “motor” which is fixed to the underside of the bike frame with kid-friendly screws – the idea being your child can while away some time tinkering with the motor using the mini screwdriver. Comfort – A decent saddle makes all the difference when it comes to encouraging your child to ride and, if you plan on passing the bike down through the family, it’s really worth spending a bit more to get the best quality balance bike you can afford. Having had an Islabikes Rothan for our eldest, we went for the other end of the market, a Chicco Bullet, for P.
