About this deal

The amount of pain and trauma that both characters were put through in there past was very hard to get through but so worth it to watch them overcome on their own and together. and yet, reluctantly, Isadora Quinn decides to move into the mansion and become Lucian's ailing mother's assistant. Her stories are gritty, with antiheroes that walk the line of good and bad, and feisty heroines who bring them to their knees.

When nineteen-year old Isadora Quinn begins working at the Blackthorne estate, she is skeptical of rumors but her curiosity about Lucian is peaked. There was a romantic subplot in there but it was sooo under-developed that I just couldn't feel anything between the characters. Also there is a massive age gape between MMC and FMC ( still age of consent but first time reading something like that). I can’t even express how much I felt throughout reading this amazing dark and twisted and yet such a magnificent and lovely masterpiece. I don't think this was totally bad, but I think it could've been so much better had the romance and character development been the center focus rather than all the rest, unnecessary things. There weren't any major particular details BUT it does mention (superficially) physical, sexual and substance abuse, and BDSM and sadism too but not between Lucian and Isadora (MCs). complicated, messed up in the head, protector, broken, survivor, powerful, scarred, the list goes on and yet there is still a lot more to be said about the man who puts fear into people by just mentioning his name. TWs for sexual assault, abuse, violence, suicide, institutionalization, breath play, knife play, animal cruelty, torture, murder, hallucinations, panic attacks, severe mental health issues, and probably several others I just can’t remember right now. The characters just ended up annoying me because they didn't really grow or do much that intrigued me.

I always thought the devil would be more interesting anyway, and Lucian Blackthorne did not disappoint. When I first read the blurb for this story, I knew that I wanted to read it because this author has always managed to deliver and give us these messed up bad ass heroes who deep down, have something out of the ordinary and these men would do anything for their heroines. And though both main characters come with heart shattering stories, Lucians character growth contented me the most because he overcome so much darkness. THE ROMANCE IN THE SECOND HALF of the book starts to pick up significantly and it definitely gets pretty heated! Isadora Quinn is unique heroine, brave, straightforward, musical prodigy who is a daughter of junkie mother, abandoned to be raised by her auntie when she was only ten, shunned by the village people who are constantly gossiping and verbally abusing her about the traumatizing incident she’s been involved at a high school party.
