About this deal

It's a pretty long read but it does contain some written material that might be inappropiate for some readers. This three-in-one volume features Edgar Award-winning author Burl Barer's works: MAN OVERBOARD, BETRAYAL IN BLUE, and A TASTE FOR MURDER. New major serial killers have come to light since the first edition was published, and many older cases have been solved (such as the Green River Killer) or further investigated (like Jack the Ripper and the Zodiac Killer). The entries include Ted Bundy, the Candyman Dean Corll, Angel of Death killer Donald Harvey, the ABC Killer, and the Bodies in the Barrels Murders. Anything and everything you want to know about the most macabre serial killers are located within these pages.

Perhaps the most interesting thing about this murder-opedia is that it feels like it has a British focus, so there is more detail on European and English murderers, like Fred West, who was apprehended and charged in 1994, apparently when this text was authored. While the entries to these volumes will continue to grow—the FBI estimates that there are at least fifty serial killers operating in the United States at any given time— The World Encyclopedia of Serial Killers is as complete as possible through the end of 2017.The book covers all kinds of killers, from solo killers - like the Son of Sam, to unresolved cases such as the Zodiac, this book has it all!

Sure, you can look at the photo of Ottis Toole, the "practicing cannibal" who was convicted of two murders in 1984, though who likely was responsible for over 100 more. The entries include El Loco Luis Alfredo Garavito, Happy Face Killer Keith Hunter Jesperson, Interstate Killer Larry Eyler, Godfather of Matamoros Adolfo de Jesus Constanzo, Golden State Killer Joseph James DeAngelo, and approximately 350 others. The author uses the definition of a serial killer as someone who murders 2 or more persons, done as separate events.
