Add the natural colorings to your icing or frosting a little at a time until you achieve your desired color, which can range from soft pastels to rich and vibrant shades. Unsweetened Cocoa Powder:2 Tablespoons is plenty for a little cocoa flavor without overpowering the vanilla and butter flavors. Using a handheld or stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment, beat the butter and sugar together on medium-high speed until combined, about 1 minute. How to Make Light Blue FrostingIf your food coloring kit doesn’t come with a mixing chart, look for one online since it will save you time and frustration trying to figure out how to get the color you need.
