I could not think what to say about what is one of my favourite books that I have just read again, so I took what Joel Chandler, aged five said: “Brer Rabbit Stories collected by Joel Chandler Harris, aged five. They are pretty funny in the middle because he has an idea and says ‘just don’t throw me in’, then he does and at the end, he’s escaped.” In 'Brer Rabbit and Mister Lion', the latter is trapped in a cave and reluctantly Brer Rabbit helps him escape. He was right to be reluctant because when Mr Lion is out he grabs Brer Rabbit and has him as a prisoner when Cousin Wildcat comes along but he tells Brer Rabbit that it is his own fault in releasing Mister Lion. Another rather strange story. Mr Tumpy's Caravan (discovered in a collection of her papers, in 2011; not the 1949 publication of similar title) [54]
