And my favorite romances to read are not only [with people] figuring themselves out so they can be with another person, but they’re also figuring themselves out for themselves.

That was definitely something that I knew Astrid was going to deal with because [of] the way I set her up in Delilah’s book.So, I think with Astrid, I really wanted to balance the very real, authentic way that I experienced it with her character and all the things that she’s dealing with from her mom.
